300 m away from the Waldschaenke...

300 m away from the Waldschaenke and close to the pheasant palace there is a miniature harbor at the Großteich pond with a lighthouse.

But what is the purpose of a lighthouse and a mole here in the midlands?

Simply for entertainment's sake, because in the 18th century this area with the Großteich pond was used to imitate sea battles using wooden frigates built solely for this purpose. Lighthouse, mole and even the Dardanelles strait were reproduced to include the landscape in the display of the sea battles.
