Hunting castle

In the year 1542 ...

the first hunting castle was built in Renaissance style. It is due to builder duke Moritz von Sachsen, that today's Baroque castle, as well as the town itself bear his name.

In the 18th century, the castle served as the hunting residence for August the Strong and provided gorgeous scenery for royal festivities.
